According to the company, ScreenX is projector and server agnostic, though currently the digital cinema projectors are from Christie, the servers are from Hewlett-Packard.

This system is primarily used for advertising and have yet to support a feature-length film.

Looking around the Trade Show, attending the conferences, hearing the most exibitors and catching for the newest trend, it seems that the efforts which permit an increase in average ticket prices and box office revenues are:

 

 

-Big Movies spreaded throughout the year and not just only concentrated around holidays dates;

Ticket sales in this first semester increased by 5%, but there are still big improvements to make.

Box Office Italy has encountered a serious problem of Italian products:

-the narrow genres offer (only comedies and arthouse films);

- presence of film in summer.

The President of ANICA says: "We need to increase efforts to diversify to the maximum the proposal of movie genres.

U.N.I.C. (Union Internationale des Cinemàs) has launched his annual event in which movie theaters, multiplexes owners so as professionals in the entertainment fields, from all around the world, have thought about how to maintain their existing customers and ideally add new ones in an increasingly competitive entertainment environment.

 

Attending at the "CineEurope Focus Sessions" on the Trade Show, hearing the most exibitors and having a look at the trend it seems that the efforts which permit an increase in average ticket prices and box office revenues are:

 

- Laser Illumination System that can be used to offer a better movie brightness so as lifetime cost effective solutions.

 

Cinemeccanica presented Lux, the Smart Cinema Laser: a new line of laser projectors.

 

The new LUX solution features modular 6P laser source projectors providing a massive 30 percent increase in brightness, a lifetime of 30,000 hours rather than 500, and a gain in energy efficiency of more than 50 percent.

 

The LUX laser light engine provides cinemas and event production professionals, among others, with a 3D system-agnostic solution that allows all standard 3D techniques, including 6P color separation. It also offers improved brightness for 2D. The professionals can now operate at a higher level of consistency and confidence as the LUX laser light engine delivers constant brightness powering up the largest screens with no Xenon light decay.
